Sounds are generated by various methods including FM synthesis, acoustic modeling and sampling. Unique to the new version, and not found in any other Native Instruments products, are a set of new drum synths. Maschine Studio hardware and Maschine 2.0 softwareOut of the box, Maschine 2.0 has a greater range of sonic options than ever before. The displays each have different views, for example, when editing samples or working in Maschine’s clip-based pattern sequencer, the displays show an overview of the full selection on the left screen while the right screen allows for detailed fine-tuning when slicing, editing, and composing.
The reason for improving the displays is to allow the user to focus on the hardware rather than mouse-clicking in the software. While it’s still centered around the 16 multi-coloured backlit pads, the new controller adds a new Edit Section with jog wheel, a Level Section and two high-resolution color displays that represent a significant improvement on Native Instruments’ former flagship Maschine controller. The Maschine Studio controller is significantly bigger than the original hardware and will sit above Maschine Mk2 and Maschine Mikro in the product range. Berlin-based Native Instruments have announced a brand new hardware controller, Maschine Studio, and a complete re-write of their Maschine groove production studio software.
